June Irene Catron, age 95 of the Kermit Community, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and was reunited with her husband, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. June was born on May 11, 1928, in Gate City, VA to Kyle and Letha Newton. June married Carlus Catron and after 49 years of a beautiful life together, he preceded her in death in 1996. June enjoyed the simple things of life. She enjoyed gardening and studying the bible, in which she had read and studied the bible completely, and in its entirety, 21 times throughout her life. June was a devout member of Maranatha Baptist Temple Church, and she loved her family and friends dearly. June was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William Carlus Catron, and two brothers, Worley Newton, and Cecil Newton. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons Jeff Catron and wife Linda, and Bill Catron and wife Sheila; one daughter, Susan England and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Michael Catron, Laura McConnell and husband Justin, Justin Linkous, Kyla Mullins and husband Jon, and Angie Nelson and husband Leroy; great grandchildren, Jenna McConnell, Silas Mullins, and Reagan Mullins; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff at Nova Healthcare and Elite Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Rock of Ages Ministry, Cleveland Tennessee, located at 4746 Dalton Pike, Cleveland, TN 37323, (423) 479-3243, ROAPM.org The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Maranatha Baptist Temple. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ralph Owens and Rev. Harold Shoemaker officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at Holston View Cemetery. Michael Catron, Justin Linkous, Justin McConnell, Jon Mullins and Silas Mullins will be serving as pallbearers. Scott County / Carter Trent Funeral Home is serving the Catron family.
