June Christian

Elbert Cecil (June) Christian, Jr., 76, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday evening (April 30, 2014). He was a lifelong resident of Surgoinsville. June worked for several years as an electrician where he belonged to local I.B.E.W # 934 in Kingsport. He went on to retire as a truck driver having worked for several different truck lines. He enjoyed mowing and especially loved spending time with his grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Cecil (Buck) and Hazel Christian; grandparents, Paralee and Onzie Gatewood ; brothers, Jerry Christian, Clyde Christian, and Harold Christian. June Christian is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patsy (Lawson) Christian, a daughter, LeAnn Christian, two special grandsons, Chris Crowder II and Mason Martin (all of Morristown, TN); his son, Gary Christian and two grandchildren, Nathan and Rebecca; brother, Jimmy Christian and wife, Linda (Vicksburg, MS), brothers-in-law, Jerry Lawson and wife, Anna, Mike Lawson and wife, Barbara, Danny Lawson and wife, Debbie (all of Church Hill); special aunt, Jessie McConnell (Richmond, VA); sister-in-law, Lesa Malone and husband, Dale (Church Hill); special life long friend, Joe Marsh (Church Hill) along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday (May 3, 2014) from 1 pm to 3 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Saturday (May 3, 2014) at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
