June Gail Jensen
November 30th, 1950 - February 27th, 2022
June Gail Jensen, 71, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, February 27th, 2022 at Sayre Christian Village of Lexington, KY. She was born on November 30th, 1950 in Charleston, SC, to the late Lee and Betty Powell. She was wife to the late Bruce Howard Jensen, and mother to three children, Michael (April) Jensen, Cheryl (Chris) Robbins and Erin Jensen. Due to her love of sports, June was an avid volleyball player, winning bronze and silver at the Bluegrass State Games, before retiring at 55. She was also a “crafty” woman, in that she loved all things arts and crafts. She had been a jewelry maker, wood carver, scrapbook and card maker, painter, crocheter, quilter, seamstress, gardener and chef. When she wasn’t crafting, June enjoyed travelling with her husband, going on adventures across the U.S. and beyond, from the Grand Canyon to the aqua blue waters of the Caribbean. Above all else, however, she was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend. In addition to her three children, June is survived by her four grandsons, Hunter Jensen, Trayvion Hill, Kenneth Hill, and David Robbins; a brother, David (Barbara) Powell; sister, Jo Anne (Deke) Daquigan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Jensen. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 5th by Brewster McLeod at Clark Legacy Center at Brannon Crossing (601 E Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY). Visitation will be from 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 5th, until the time of the service. Due to COVID, we are asking all attendees to please wear a surgical or KN95 mask for the visitation and service; if you are unable to attend, you can view the funeral service at 4:00 pm through Facebook live on the Clark Legacy Center Facbook page.
