Interment Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island New York. Date yet to be decided. June was born on June 30th, 1926, to Walter L. Schaubhuth and Anna Lerner in Flushing, Queens New York, the youngest sibling to her brother, Walter J. and sister, Pearl. They lived together until their mother died from tuberculosis at the young age of 36. Then, 10 years of age, she went to live with her Uncle Herb and Aunt Ruth Schaubhuth in Richmond Hills, Queens, and graduated from Jamaica Evening High School in 1944. She worked in lower Manhattan as a key punch operator and met her future husband while out with her girlfriend having drinks at a local bar on Christmas Eve 1947. George Klein had stopped in for a drink before meeting his date that evening. But after meeting June, stood up his date. They fell madly in love, were engaged by March and married six months later - June 26th,1948. They were happily married for 43 years. They lived in a cold-water flat with no heat or hot water for the first few years of marriage, then moved out to Massapequa, Long Island. There they had two children – Kenneth and Douglas. In 1959, they then moved to Babylon, Long Island and had two more children – Janice and Jeffrey. June took on the challenge of raising four energetic but defiant children, who always tested her patience, but was always a loving mother and caregiver. She and George lived in Babylon 37 years, then moved to Beverly Hills, Florida in 1986, three years after George’s retirement from the U.S. Postal Service. Widowed in 1991, June stayed at their home in Beverly Hills for the next 11 years and then moved to Melbourne, Florida to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She lived with them for 15 years until her passing. Although her health was declining, she was able to make one last trip to Long Island in June 2019 to see her family to celebrate. She loved her family dearly and always lit up when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were around. She will be greatly missed……
