June Maxine Watson
May 31st, 1931 - December 21st, 2015
June Maxine Watson, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, from natural causes at her home in Cornelius, Oregon. Maxine Watson was born on May 31, 1929, in Emmett, Idaho, to Fredrick and Genevieve Hale. She attended Emmett and Marsing schools and had 3 sisters. On September 27, 1947, Maxine married Challen Watson in Winnemucca, Nevada. Together they had 3 sons: Terry, Darrell, and Steven. In 1957, Chally and Maxine moved to Marsing, and opened the Highway Service Station & Garage. A few years later, they moved into agriculture and started Terra Hug Spray Company. Maxine lived in the Marsing area from the time she was 10 years old until July of this year, when Maxine moved with her son Steve and his family to Cornelius, Oregon. Maxine loved to be with family, and especially enjoyed family gatherings for holidays and special events. She enjoyed visits to the Oregon Coast and to the Owyhee Mountains for snowmobiling with family and friends. Maxine’s daily routine always included doing the crossword puzzle and going for coffee to visit with family and friends. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, and two sons. She is survived by her son, Darrell Watson (Marilyn); sister, Geraldine Eismann (Richard); daughter-in-law Susan Watson; daughter-in-law, Gloria Watson; and 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Monday, December 28th at Flahiff Funeral Chapel (624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell). Maxine’s funeral service will be held at Deer Flat Free Methodist Church (17703 Beet Road, Caldwell) on Tuesday, December 29th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery with a community lunch at the Marsing Community Center. Memorial donations can be sent to the Marsing Ambulance Fund (PO Box 132 Marsing, ID 83639).
