Kamaria Nandi Francis Spaulding, 18 year old STEAM Academy Senior, departed from her earthly parents to join her heavenly father on April 12, 2020. Kamaria was an out of this world woman. Just like her name “like the moon”, she was a light that could always shine through the darkness. From an early age Kamaria was head strong and knew what she wanted out of life. From the moment she was born, we knew Kamaria was anything but ordinary. She came into this world as only Kamaria could, having all the attention on her, and not giving in until the entire hospital staff was in love with her. This was the precedence she set for the next 18 years. As time passed it was often stated this child has been here before. I mean what 8 year old fixes a bottle, tests the temperature, and says “okay hand me my brother, so I can feed him”. This is just how life was with Kamaria. She was a natural born leader who knew she wanted to pour back into the lives around her. She began with joining CIS as one of its first members and from then on her community service began. She loved serving others so much, that she decided not only would she become a female entrepreneur starting her own business, but also a first responder, which led to her interning at the Red Cross. As Kamaria navigated through this world she changed every life she came in contact with. No matter the age Kamaria loved spending time with the people she loved. Whether hanging with her baby sister, her best friends, or visiting her grandparents; she never missed an opportunity to stop at Granny Beulah’s to fix a plate. Kamaria was the epitome of a humble, selfless, strong black woman. Although we feel her time here on earth was cut short, she still found a way to give as she transitioned into her new life by being an organ donor. Kamaria was and will always be a beacon of light for those around her. So when your day has been long or you’re looking for her guidance in your darkest hour, look out to find the brightest crescent of the moon shining down on you. Know that though she has left us physically, she will continue to light our path each and every day She is survived by: Parents: La’Keshia & David K Campbell Jr. and Richard Spaulding (Cierra) Grand Parents: Jackie Spaulding, Evonne D Hendrix, Michael Covington, Dr. Vincent P.
