Kara Lynn Holladay

Kara Lynn Holladay passed away from diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) on February 6, 2023, at her home in Winlock, Washington, where she resided for the past two years. Kara was born September 4, 1977, in Tacoma, Washington, to George Frank Holladay and Kimberlee Koontz. Kara grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her childhood. She graduated from Yelm High School in 1996, where she participated in band and was a member of the flag team. In 1997, Kara was blessed with her only child, Jessica Marie Kincaid. Kara earned her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting through Pierce College in 2007. Kara loved to go hiking and would often lose track of time while kayaking on various lakes throughout the state of Washington as this was her passion. She also had a talent for propagating plants from others and crocheting purses and blankets. Kara is survived by her daughter, Jessica Marie Kincaid of Tacoma, Washington; her mother, Kimberlee Holladay-McDevitt of McKenna, Washington; her sister, Shauna Allen of Yelm, Washington; and brother, Michael Holladay of Federal Way, Washington; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Kara is preceded in death by her father, George Frank Holladay; grandparents, Lorna Lou Koontz, Wayne Floyd Koontz, Mary Agnes Holladay, and George Byron Holladay. Graveside services will be held at the Yelm Cemetery on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with reception for family and friends to follow at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10423 Clark Road SE, Yelm, WA 98597.
