Karen Debra Divine, 67, of Johnstown, passed away September 10, 2023 very suddenly after a recent cancer diagnosis. She was born December 17, 1955 in Scottsbluff, NE to George William and Betty Nadine (Petersen) Divine. Her father worked for Great Western Sugar Factory and they relocated to Eaton, Colorado in 1959, moving to Lyons in 1965 where she attended schools. On December 15, 1972, Debbie married Ronald William Boddy at the Lyons UMC. As a young wife and mother, she was a homemaker, working part-time at the scale house during beet harvest. She later worked for a number of businesses in Johnstown; chiropractors, First National Bank, Ace Hardware and cleaning Dr. Volk’s office. She also worked at Hays Market in Berthoud, and then for Waste Management. Debbie was always a people-person and in their early years, she and Ron were members of Resurrections Fellowship and served on the prayer team. She belonged to and organized many Bible studies over the years. She loved the ocean and always dreamed of moving to the coast. She loved traveling, reading, enjoyed making jewelry as well as contra dancing. Thankful to have shared her life are her children; Candi Boddy and Ryan (Nickie Ewing) Boddy, five grandchildren; Noah (Bret) Ewing, Drew Ewing and Zach Ewing, Kayla Shepherd (Tyler Hein), Tanner Shepherd (Landri Krugar), two great-grandchildren; Kite Ewing and Paisley Potter, her sister Diane Divine-Rieger and brother, David (Laurie) Divine, brothers-in-law; Rodgers Kanani, David (Judy) Boddy, Leroy (Sharon) Boddy, Robert Boddy, Richard (Kristi) Boddy, sisters-in-law; Betty (Al) Jantz, Mary Bell Schwindt, Alice (Scott) Evans, Rita (Kevin) Peters, and Carol Bourn and many nieces and nehews who referred to her as their favorite aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron in 1994 and her brother, Mark Divine. Debbie’s Life Celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 at Adamson Life Celebration Home with a reception to follow. Private family inurnment at the Johnstown Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the “Glenn A. Jones, MD Memorial Library” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
