Karen Lundberg

Karen was born in 1948 near Olympia, Washington to Alfred and Mildred Otto, who were chicken farmers. She grew up with six siblings, two brothers and four sisters. Her mother insisted on taking the children to church. “This is where I’m putting my foot down. I’m taking the children to church,” she told Karen’s dad. It was under the preaching of Arthur Anderson that she trusted Jesus to be her Savior. In Bible School, while memorizing Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved,” Karen came to rejoice in the knowledge that she belonged to Jesus. Through the teaching of Ian Thomas’ book, The Saving Life of Christ, Karen understood that the Christian life is a life that only Jesus could live, for He is perfect and we are not. She asked the Holy Spirit for daily filling to live Jesus’ life through her, and for her sins to be forgiven. “The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from all sin.” Praise God for Jesus! Karen passed away on August 20, 2017. She is survived by four sons, three daughters-in-law, and ten grandchildren. She was preceded to our glorious heavenly home by her dear husband, Phil.
