Karen Shurtz, 71, of Yuba City, CA passed away on June 10, 2015. Born December 28, 1943 in Ft. Bragg, CA. She was a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 16 years and a retired Sams Club Product demonstrator. Survivors include her three daughters, Brandi Shurtz of Yuba City, April Avalos of Sacramento, and Michelle Thompson of Folsom, granddaughters: Keisha Brown, Kayla Meyers and Teresa Avalos, grandsons: Miguel Avalos and Trae Norton, two great grandsons: Neeko Torres-Norton and Lucas Meyers, and sister Marba Masters. She loved her fur babies, Breezee, Mia, Tiki and Shadow Karen is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Shurtz, mother and father: Edith and Leslie Stornetta, and sister Barbara Scarioni.. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Ullrey Memorial Chapel with Ed Smith, officiating. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
