Karen Hope Sweeney
February 10th, 1943 - November 23rd, 2020
Karen Hope Sweeney, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of November 23, 2020 surrounded by her beloved family. A private memorial service will be at a later date. Karen was born on February 10, 1943 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas Buggy and Elberta Bates. Karen retired from the Houston County Sheriff’s office as a records clerk after many years of faithful service to her community. When Karen was not working she could often times be found in her yard planting flowers and enjoying the beauty the Lord had created. Karen was also huge football fanatic. Karen was a loving person who always had her door open for both family and friends to come in and relax. As we enter into the holiday season we enter Karen’s favorite time of the year because she loved the thought of giving during the holidays and being surrounded by those she loved dearly. She will forever be remembered for her charismatic attitude and her hospitality for everyone. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved children, Margie Case (Gordon), Chris Sweeney (Anne), JD Sweeney (Heather), and Brian Sweeney (Mary); grandchildren, Christopher Case, Shelly Ferreira (Brendan), Jeffrey Sweeney (Melissa), Brandon Sweeney, Bryant Sweeney, and Jarod Sweeney; great-grandchildren, Quincy Ferreira, and Baby girl Angel Rose. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Buggy; Sister, Penny Savage and a host of extended family members and many friends. Please go to www.heritagememorialfuneralhome.com to sign the online guestbook and to leave a condolence for the family. It is with great honor Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with Ms. Karen Sweeney’s arrangements.
