KAREN E. VILLWOCK, age 81 of Johnson Creek passed away peacefully at her home on October 22, 2023. Karen was born to Clement and Catherine (Habercorn) Weisensel on July 25,1942 in Madison, WI. She was a graduate of Sun Prairie High School and attended college at UW-Whitewater. She received her Masters degree from the University of New Hampshire and attended UW-Madison to further her education. She married David Villwock at Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church in Sun Prairie on December 22, 1984. Together, they enjoyed square dancing and travelling. Karen taught in schools in various communities in Wisconsin, including Milwaukee Public Schools for 24 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson. Karen is survived by her husband, David; siblings Donna Gmeinder of Sauk City, WI, Herb (Mary) Weisensel of Gaineville, GA, Burnie (Sandy) Weisensel of Marshall, WI, LaVonne (Stan) Stangler of Watertown, Eileen (Jeff) McDowell of Sun Prairie, WI, Steve (Laurie) Weisensel of Waterloo, WI, Joanne (David) Wayer of New Berlin, WI and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronnie, brother-in-law George Gmeinder and in-laws Elmer and Genevive Villwock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to time of mass. Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
