Karin May Haager, age 42, of Bonney Lake, Washington, passed away Saturday (April 15, 2017) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA after acourageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of John Haager of Bonney Lake. Karin was born on Fort Gordon, Georgia on December 25, 1974 and grew up in Clearwater, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Royce and Mary (Allen) May. Karin worked for the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program through the Enumclaw School District for the last 3 years where she helped many students get the head start they needed, and helped their parents find needed assistance. Besides her husband, Karin also leaves behind three young children, Bethany Haager of Bonney Lake, Washington, Christopher Haager of Bonney Lake, Washington, and Rebekah Haager of Bonney Lake, Washington, a sister, Angie May of Jackson, South Carolina, two brothers-in-law, Douglas Haager of Baltimore, Maryland, and Adrian Haager of Augusta, Georgia. She also leaves behind 3 nieces and a nephew, Ivy Haager, Maren Haager, and Douglas Haager Jr of Baltimore, Maryland, and Ta’raya May of Martinez, Georgia. In addition, she leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins and cherished friends. Karin was an incredible person and loved spending time with her children cheering their accomplishments and helping guide them on their journeys. She enjoyed crafting and making homemade jewelry for her friends and family. Karin was involved in numerous community organizations, including the local PTA, her son’s junior football club, the local Relay for Life chapter, and her local church. The funeral will be a private family event with a public memorial service on May 5th at 5PM at Calvary Community Church in Sumner, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local Relay For Life chapter.
