Maier, Karl E., 86, died Friday May 14, 2004 at St. Petersburg General Hospital after a short illness. Born in Heiningen, Germany, he moved here in 1997 from Keego Harbor, Michigan. He worked for Bing Construction in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan as a painter for 20 years. He was a member of the D.A.S.V. Marksmen Club in Michigan and also of the Men?s Club at Town Apartments here in St. Petersburg. He was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Maria A. Maier; three sons: Horst Maier of Stuttgart, Germany, Rolf Maier of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Siegfried Maier of Canada; one sister: Gretel Maier of Stuttgart, Germany; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
