Karl Yamaguchi

Karl Shigeo Yamaguchi, 73, of Platteville passed away April 2, 2020 in Greeley. He was born April 15, 1946 in Denver to Frank Masatake and Shigeko (Ohashi) Yamaguchi. Karl grew up in Platteville, the youngest of four children and graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest. He served active duty in the U.S. Navy from September 4, 1968 to August 24, 1972 and the reserves until June 18, 1982. He re-enlisted active duty from October 27, 1982 to October 26, 1984 and the reserves until June 10, 1988, retiring as a Petty Officer, Second Class. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and later retired. Karl was a volunteer with the Platteville Fire Department and loved his cats. Survivors include his siblings, Richard (Karen) Yamaguchi of Wheat Ridge, Joanne Yamaguchi of Boulder and Judith Yamaguchi of Platteville, nieces and nephews; Kirsten (Loren) Lew, Kerry (Patty) Yamaguchi, Wendy (Andrew) Weber and their families.
