Katherine Rose Boyd
July 28th, 1983 - August 29th, 2023
Katherine Rose Boyd, went to heaven August 29, 2023, in Boise Idaho after a brave three year battle with cancer. Katie was born July 28, 1983, to Patrick and Rosanne Murphy (Gerke) in West Hills, California. She lived most of her life in Simi Valley, California, attending White Oak Elementary, Valley View Middle School, and graduating from Simi Valley High School in 2001. After high school, Katie worked with mentally and physically disabled adults. She went onto Moorpark Community College Nursing Program and started working at Glendale Adventist Hospital. She worked for Assisted Home Health and Hospice in Mission Hills, California, until she moved to Idaho. After moving to Idaho, Katie got her BSN while working at St Luke's Hospital in Meridian. She was an amazing hospice nurse. Growing up Katie was a very sweet, easy going girl. She loved her animals and volunteered at the local veterinary hospital and was very excited to watch her first surgery. She loved camping at the beach, especially Carpinteria State Beach. She was an active member of youth ministry at St. Peter Claver Church. She was fierce in whatever she did. In 2002, Katie met the love of her life, Bradley Boyd. She loved the annual family trip to Mammoth Lakes, California. Brad and Katie loved Mammoth so much, they married there in 2012 at the outdoor chapel at Twin Lakes. She introduced her two boys to her special camping spot and they continue the tradition. Katie loved spending time with her husband Brad and her boys. She loved doing her make-up, art projects with the boys, camping, fishing, her dogs, snakes and turtles. She loved tending to her indoor and outdoor gardens. She was a practical joker and along with her sisters loved teasing their dad. Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents: Joseph and Kathleen Murphy and Anthony Gerke and Rita Gerke Harnacker; uncle, Gary Savas; and her aunt, Judy Gerke. She leaves behind her husband, Bradley Boyd; her beautiful boys, Joseph (7) and Connor (4); her parents; sisters: Eileen Henderson (Steve), Suzanne Murphy(Katie Woodrick), Laura Sett (Ricky); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. We would like to thank her wonderful hospice coworker friends at St Luke's Meridian for being there for her til the end. A celebration of life will be held February 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Still Water Hollow, 18120 Dean Ln, Nampa, Idaho.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
