Katherine McCoy Franke

Katherine (Katy) McCoy Franke, 37, of Land O’ Lakes died on Wednesday, February 28, 2007. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee and moved to Land O’ Lakes in 1977. She graduated from Land O’ Lakes High School in 1987 and from Florida State University in 1991 where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Katy and her husband, Tim, married in 1995; both worked with high-risk children. Later, Katy served as director of several child care centers and preschools. She was a member of the Alpha Rho chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a philanthropic sorority, and was a leader of her daughter’s Brownie troop. Katy is survived by her husband, Tim, three children, McKenna (10), Silas (7), and Hayden (5), of Land O’ Lakes; by her mother, Elizabeth McCoy, of Land O’ Lakes; a sister Molly McCoy Straus, of Cold Spring, NY; and grandmother Dolores McCoy of Indian Rocks Beach. hn glover death datepsychology and lung cancer
