Katherine E. Kilmartin

Katherine E. Kilmartin, 80, formerly of Fonda passed away peacefully on December 16, 2013 at the Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge, NY. She was born on July 13, 1933 in Ohio, the daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine Christman Brownell. Katherine is a lifetime resident of the area and attended local schools. She was employed as a Seamstress in a dress making factory. She last worked for the Amsterdam Recorder, delivering the daily newspaper. Katherine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most recently she enjoyed the company of her friends at the Palatine Nursing Home and was known to raise a little cane, she will be truly missed, She is survived by her sons, David Micky Green of Marshville, Steven Lynn Green of Sloansville, daughters Mary Jane Randy Moltrup of Fultonville, DeborahRobert Hare of Roma, Kansas and Kathy Green of Fonda; 12 granchildren, 17 great grandchildren, along with her brothers, Albert Brownell, James Ann Brownell of Ft. Plain, sisters Jenny Stan Tomek of Ft. Plain, Hannah Robert Schuyler of St, Johnsville, Marion Douglas of Hondo, TX and Mable Cook of Cherry Valley. Katherine is predeceased by her siblings, John Monk, Bill, John, Elton Brownell, a sister Edith Filliman and a son in law, Albert Rouse. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 10am until 11am at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home, Rev. Alan Griffith will officiate. Burial will take place at Freysbush Cemetery in the Spring.
