Hayes, Katherine L. McEntire ?Billie?, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday November 9, 2003 at Suncoast Manor Health Center. Born in Murray County, Georgia, she came here in the late 1970?s from Newark, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Women?s Club. She was an avid bridge player and traveler and was always active in community and church. She is survived by two daughters; Cathi White of St. Petersburg and Jo Ann Cooperrider of Norwalk, Ohio; two brothers, Smith Hall McEntire and Fred McEntire both of Georgia; four grandsons: Mike and Mark Cooperrider of Ohio and Jason and Troy White of St. Petersburg and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1973. Services and burial will be held later this month in Murray County, Georgia. One of her favorite missions was Menual School for whom she volunteered in the field of public relations. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her name be given to Menual School, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Dr. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 notated with ?Billie Hayes Memorial Fund?.
