Katherine Moreno-Mitchell

Katherine Moreno-Mitchell, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a beloved sister, passed away on December 30, 2021. Kathy was born on July 26, 1959. She was the 7th of 11 children to Chris and Lucy Moreno of Olivehurst, CA. She was a life long Yuba-Sutter resident, who grew up surrounded by her siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Lindhurst High School, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, and had 3 wonderful children. Kathy also received the great title of grandma, to 3 handsome boys and 1 beautiful girl. Kathy began her retail career straight out of high school, and was a valued employee at Mervyns for 30 years. She then continued her career to be a valued employee at Sams Club for 10 years. Kathy worked hard for everything she had, to give her family everything they wanted. Kathy was a very strong and giving person, whose smile brightened everyone's day. Wether it be to lending a helping hand or simply just a listening ear, she was always there when you needed her. She was definitely one of a kind. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. From watching them grow their skills during practices, to cheering them on in the stands at games, to taking road trips, or teaching them how to bake, she was a huge part of their lives. Kathy will be deeply missed by her entire family, especially her husband of 40 years, Richard; her surviving children, Andrea and Phillip; and her grandchildren, Isaiah, Max, Adrian, and Jasmine. Although our hearts are broken, it eases us to know she is now reunited with her son, Richard (1986-2008); and her parents, Chris and Lucy. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 4-7pm at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 10am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, and followed by food and drinks at the Yuba City Moose Lodge.
