None Kathleen Brockhaus June 28, 1925 - June 18, 2006 Kathleen was born at Mercy Hospital in San Diego to Leone Seavers of Pocatello, Idaho and James O’Connor of Perry, Iowa who met in Salt Lake City where Leone was in nursing school and James was a resident physician. Her parents married in Pocatello, Idaho and her father, James, joined the Navy. Kathleen moved often due to her father’s military duty, attending ten schools finally graduating high school in Monroe, N.Y. She then attended The College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, N.Y. She joined her parents in Great Lakes, Illinois where she worked at the naval base post office. Kathleen and her family moved to Norman, Oklahoma and finally to Berkley, California where she met her husband, William F. Brockhaus on a blind date arranged by her mother. They were married in 1948 at the naval base chapel on Treasure Island, California, then honeymooned across the U.S. to Jacksonville, Florida where her husband was stationed. They moved many times as the Navy dictated, finally settling in Dallas, Oregon in 1960 after her husband retired from military service. Kathleen lived in Dallas for forty years where she formed many long lasting friendships. After her husband died she moved to Olympia, Washington to be near her son, Patrick J. Brockhaus and daughter, Margaret Gord who have survived her. She is also survived by three grandsons, Patrick, Charles and James Brockhaus, and a son-in-law David Gord. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2006 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
