Kathleen Ann (Henkel) Chavez, 66 passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. Kathy was born July 5, 1955 in Sidney, Nebraska to Richard and Betty Henkel. She grew up in Pueblo, CO with her parents and siblings. Kathy is remembered by her friends and family as a free spirit but remembered especially for her beautiful singing voice, her love of the southwest, nature, and history. Kathy is survived by her children— Son, Paul (Jessica) Valdez, son Julian (Jessica) Chavez, daughter Anastacia Chavez, her mother Betty Henkel, sister Cindy (Joe Cruz) Marmolejo, sister Debbie (George) Morrone, her nieces and nephews Nick, Connor, Ryan, Kayla (Robin), Alexa, and Madison. Kathy is preceded in passing by nephew Kyle Henkel, her brother Richie Henkel, and father Richard Henkel. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 16th at 3:00pm at Riverside Funeral Home at 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108
