Kathleen Marie Childs, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Albany Medical Center, following, following a long illness.
She was born August 24, 1960, in Gloversville, the daughter of James and Shirley (Fear) Childs. She was a 1978 graduate of Gloversville High School and graduated from Fulton Montgomery Community College. Kathy was a sports fan, particularly of the New York Yankees. An amateur photographer, she enjoyed taking fall season photos. Kathy worked at Tryon School for several years and later at Epimed, both in Johnstown.
Survivors include her partner, Teresa Wands; two brothers, Timothy Childs (Ellen) and Sean Childs; a sister, Erin McManus (Martin); two nephews, Adam Snell and Andrew McManus; a niece, Kimberly McElwee; and her beloved cat, Magic.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Childs, and two sisters, Denise Orey (Rick) and Tracy Childs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local animal shelter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart Family Funeral Homes, Gloversville.
