Beers and Story - Belchertown
Kathleen E. Corrigan
July 1st, 1937 - March 26th, 2015
"Granby - Kathleen E. (McKenna) Corrigan, 77, of Granby, passed away without pain or struggle on March 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and those who cared for her deeply. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Harry Corrigan who passed away in 1991. She was born on July 1, 1937 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Edward and Helena (Howley) McKenna, and lived in Hawaii before settling in Granby 46 years ago. She was a committed member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby, and an avid gardener. Kathleen was a generous, fun loving woman who put her energies into being a dedicated mother to her children and a devoted grandmother to her cherished grandchildren. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family, building fond memories that will last an eternity. The family would like to extend a very gracious thank you to the staff at Loomis House for their tender care of Kathleen. They would also like to extend their appreciation to all of her friends and fellow parishioners for stopping in to visit Kathleen, to lift her spirits, share a prayer or two, and offer support during her final days. She will be sadly missed by her children, Steven Corrigan and his wife Lori of Keene, NH, and Maureen Evans and her husband Robert or Essex Junction, VT, and her six grandchildren, Brian, Bobby, Abigail, Brenden, Sean, and Mackenzie. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward McKenna. Visitation will be held on Fri., April 10, 2015 from 5-7 PM at The Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. The Funeral Mass will be held on Sat., April 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 256 State St., Granby. Burial will follow at West Cemetery, West St., Granby."
