February 28th, 1949 - March 6th, 2008
Kathleen R. "Kathy" Epting, 59, of Reed Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Albany Medical Center. She was born in Schenectady, NY on February 28, 1949 a daughter of Ruth Robertson Filkins and the late Walter Holloway. Kathy was raised in Round Lake and attended schools in that area. She married Robert K. Epting, Sr. on November 27, 1965. She was employed at the present time with Fownes in Amsterdam where she had worked for over 20 years. Her hobbies included ceramics, crossword puzzles, and traveling to her home in North Carolina where she and her husband spent their winters. She also very much enjoyed spending time with her family. Kathy's loving family includes her mother, Ruth Filkins of Scotia, her husband of 42 years, Robert K. Epting, Sr. of Fultonville, two children, Tammy Castellano of Schenectady and Robert K. Epting, Jr. of Fultonville, five grandchildren, Jacob and Brenden Epting, and Melissa, Patrick and Thomas Castellano, two sisters, Cheryl Parker of Pennsylvania and Gail Brooks of Hudson Falls, and a brother, Frank Holloway of Round Lake. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her father, Kathy was predeceased by a brother, Walter Holloway, Jr. Funeral Services will be at 6:00PM on Monday, March 10, 2008 at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY with Pastor Brett Popp, presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the services, beginning at 5:00PM at the funeral home.
