Kathleen Jean Ewing

November 3, 1952 – August 4, 2024

On the morning of August 4, 2024, Kathleen Jean Ewing of Lacey, Washington passed away peacefully at St. Peters Hospital surrounded by her family. Kathleen was 71 years old.

Kathleen was born on November 3, 1952, in Portland, Oregon to Harold and Cleo Lowe and was the second of their three children. After her family moved to Olympia, Kathleen graduated from North Thurston High School in 1971 and went on to study Pharmacology at the University of Washington.

After graduating from the University of Washington in 1977 with a degree in Pharmacology, she worked for multiple organizations including Pay N Save, Group Health, and the Madigan Army Medical Center in her 25-year career in Pharmacology.

In 1976, Kathleen met her future husband Greg at Pay N Save where she was completing her pharmacy internship and Greg was working as a department head. Kathleen and Greg went on to have three children, Michael, Timothy, and Kyle. Kathleen loved her family and always encouraged her children to do their best and have fun!

Kathleen was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and taking trips throughout Washington and Oregon with her husband, she especially loved visiting the Oregon coast. Kathleens’s most memorable trips are when she and her family went to Disneyland and Yellowstone National Park.

Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister that cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Cleo. She is survived by Greg, her husband of 47 years, their three children Michael, Timothy, and Kyle, her sister Sue, her brother Steve, and her three grandchildren Bailey, Chasi, and Ariya

Special thanks to Dr. Erin Kershisnik who worked for years with Kathleen to improve her health, comfort, and quality of life.

Services for Kathleen will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at noon at Funeral Alternatives, 455 North Street SE, Tumwater, Washington 98501.
