Kathleen Mary Freeman

Kathleen Mary Freeman, 87, of Boise, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023. Services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, with a Rosary at 12 noon and a Funeral Mass at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Kathleen was born in Boise, Idaho, March 2, 1935, to Raymond and Mary DeMeyer. She was raised and lived in Mtn. Home most all her life. She attended Marylhurst College in Lake Oswego, Oregon after high school but returned home and married Newell Freeman. They had four children together. They later divorced. She went back to school while raising her four children and earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Boise State University one of her proudest moments. She taught elementary education at the base, West Elementary, and finished her career teaching 4th grade at East Elementary. She retired and moved to Boise. She felt fortunate to spend 10 of those years wintering in Mesa, Arizona. Kathleen was a proud Bronco Alum and loved watching BSU football and basketball. She enjoyed spending time with friends and her children and their families. She also loved playing bridge, a great cocktail and watching the golfers and geese off her patio near Hillcrest Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary and her brother John DeMeyer. She is survived by her children, David Freeman of San Francisco, Suzanne Douthit (Gary) of Eagle, Idaho, Brenda Lawrence (Randy) of Boise, Idaho, Gary Freeman (Darlene Ramierez) of Encinitas, California. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
