Kathleen Hampton Parrish of Parrish passed away on August 25, 2023. She was born to Carter Eugene and Kate Blanton Hampton on April 18, 1926, in Bradenton, Florida. She grew up in Palmetto, FL, and married Lamar Strickland Parrish on June 15, 1945, on Terra Ceia Island at the home of his grandparents Simpson and Anna Maybelle Strickland. She graduated from Palmetto High School in 1945. Kathleen was the Bookkeeper for Cecil W. King citrus broker in Parrish for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Parrish, and in later years attended the First Methodist Church of Parrish. Her hobbies were working in her yard, sewing, and needlepoint. Kathleen was proud of her orchids and daylilies. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Lamar Parrish, and daughter Betty Jo Parrish Taylor, her sister Elise Pledger, and brothers Carter Eugene Jr., and James Hampton. Kathleen is survived by her daughter Pamela Kay Parrish of Parrish, son-in-law Guy, and wife Margo Taylor of Lakewood Ranch, grandsons Jonathan Parrish Taylor (wife Jennifer) of Lithia, FL, and Mitchell Aaron Taylor of Meridian, Mississippi, 3 great-grandchildren Jackson and Juliette Taylor of Lithia, and Cora Isabel Taylor of Meridian, Mississippi. Nieces Tiffany Klomp, Miriam Parrish, Dana Parrish, Marcia Powers, Kelly Jo Lutz, Greer Mimbs, Holly, Elisa Kay Jenniex, Priscilla Flynn, Deidre Chaknas, Kristen Hampton, Karen Hampton and nephews Brad Hampton, Mickey Lutz, Blair Pledger, Larry Parrish, and Lee Joseph Stephens. Services will be handled by Griffith-Cline Funeral Home and the graveside service will be held at Fortner Cemetery in Parrish on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 10:00 am.
