Kathleen "Kathy" R. Sholty

Kathleen R. “Kathy” Sholty, daughter of Joseph and Grace Tussillo, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2016 in Olympia, Washington. She was the eldest of two girls born in Queens, New York. At the age of seven, the family moved to Southern California, settling in El Sereno, a Los Angeles city neighborhood. The family moved to Baldwin Park where she graduated from Baldwin Park High School. She was very active in the Girl Scouts, high school band, drama and many other service and school activities. She enjoyed careers working in the fields of hospital administration and social services. She moved to Olympia in 2008 and enjoyed her golden years as a Director of Activities for her senior apartment complex, where she taught crafts and jewelry making to the residents and organized events. All who met her were drawn to her charm, her sass, and her outgoing nature. She was a loving mother to her four children, Denise Clifford, Devin Sholty, and Katherine and Edward Tincknell; and grandmother to seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
