Kathleen Skerencak
August 17th, 1926 - October 27th, 2022
Kathleen (Kay) Skerencak passed into the arms of Jesus on October 27, 2022. She was born on August 17, 1926 in Ft. Kent Maine. She was predeceased by her parents Hermine and Joseph King and her siblings: Harold (Louise), Marie (Freddie), Pearl (Robert), Albert, and Lilly. Additionally, she was pre-deceased by her husband Andrew Skerencak. Kathleen and Andrew have two surviving children, Mark (Lori) and Gail (Steve). During WW II Kay worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" building ships for the US Navy where her older brother Harold served. She later worked in the administrative offices of Sears and Roebuck before having children and working as a homemaker in Buffalo, N.Y. Kathleen was known for her love of animals and gardening. She once rehabilitated three squirrels inside her home where her husband made a makeshift tree in the kitchen. She wanted to assure her squirrels would be expert climbers before being released back into the wild. Her kind and sweet demeanor was admired and appreciated by those that knew her. She laughed easily and helped others do the same throughout her life.
