Kathlyn A. Oparowski

South Hadley - Kathlyn A. Oparowski, 76, passed away March 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 15, 1945 in Springfield, MA to Walter "Hap" and Ruth (Habel) Moynihan. She was raised in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield and moved to South Hadley in 1979. After graduating from high school Kathy entered the Sisters of St. Joseph and became a Nun for 7 years. She began her teaching career in Ministry volunteering at schools in Greenfield, Worcester and in Newport, RI. Mrs. O worked as a teacher for the Belchertown School System for 37 years. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and her grand dogs and listening to music. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 45 years, Ronald Oparowski and her son Ronald "Ronzo" Oparowski, Jr and his wife Laura all of S. Hadley. She is also survived by her 2 precious grandsons, Griffin and Brody and her brother Walter Moynihan (Dawn) of NE. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Michael Moynihan. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 22nd from 4:00-6:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. The family would encourage guests to wear Kathy's favorite color green, in honor of her Irish pride, to her Celebration of Life.
