Kathryn (Kate) May Paulsen (Also know as Kate Green, Kate Barrenche-Green, Kate Nelson) August 15, 1932 - June 19, 2019 Memorial Service for Kate will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 7135 N Leonardo Da Vinci Way, Tucson, Arizona (on South side of Ina Road between Oracle and La Canada). Born August 15, 1932 to Clark and Irma Scurrah in Elmhurst Illinois. her older sister, Donna Rankin predeceased Kate in 2001. On May, 21, 1949, she married Donald Barrenche. In 1957, she and her family moved from Illinois to Southern Arizona. Donald preceded her in death in August 2001. Kate is survived by her husband John Martin Paulsen and by her two children, Clark Barrenche (Tania) and Sunny Barrenschee-Griffus (Keith), ten grandchildren, nineteen great-Grandchildren and two great-great-Grandchildren. She loved and cared for animals, including throughout the years, cats, dogs, birds, horses, and even a goat. She enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was known for her hospitality, her sense of humor, ability to clearly explain Bible truths, and her zeal to get things done. Besides working as a domestic engineer for her household, she worked in many roles, including telephone operator, postal worker, professional dog groomer, EKG technician, and private duty nurse. Kate was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on December 7, 1957 and helped many to learn about Jehovah and his wonderful plan for the future. She longed to see the Bible prophecies come true that showed that this earth will become a paradise under a righteous world-wide government where mankind will delight in using their abilities to the full, where people will never will fear death again, where even persons who have died will be brought back to live in this paradise earth. She new that when she fell asleep in death, she would be in a sleep-like condition, awaiting resurrection to life in a paradise earth. Kathryn (Kate) Paulsen went to sleep in death Wednesday, June 19, 2018 at around 9:30 AM Tucson time. She was fighting dementia and an host of other medical problems, but finally succumbed to them. She was 86. She had spent her last couple of years of her life in assisted living being assisted by very loving care givers and her pet cat.
