Kathryn Vigil

Kathy was married to Joe Vigil on June 22, 1974 in Hawthorne, California and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this summer. Kathy was a lifetime educator and devoted educational assistant for over 30 years. She ended her career in education as the boo-boo fixer. Joe and Kathy raised three children Dianna, Toni-Marie, and Robert in Hawthorne, California before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1993. She shared her love of God through her involvement at church by teaching religious education, was part of the Women's Guild, and parish council. She enjoyed spending time at the beach listening to the ocean. She was very devoted to her family and friends, always putting their needs before hers. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Vernon, mother Delores, and brother Kim. She is survived by her husband Joe, daughter Dianna and husband Miguel and their children Dominic, Gabriel, Olivia and Ava; daughter Toni-Marie and husband Carlos and their children Mia and Emily; and son Robert; her brothers Keith and Kevin, and many other beloved family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9th at 6:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE in Albuquerque. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 10th at 10 am also at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Robert Vigil, Kevin Bartlein, Dominic Ortiz, Gabriel Ortiz, Miguel Ortiz, and Carlos Olivas. She will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE in Albuquerque following the mass.
