Kathyrine “Kathy” Zodiacal, 68, of Salinas, was born in the Visayan Islands, Philippines on December 24, 1945 and passed March 26, 2014 in Salinas, CA. She came to the United States in her pre-teens and lived most of her life in Monterey County. She graduated from Monterey High in 1964 and had long tenures at Social Security and Natividad Medical Center. Kathy enjoyed life. She loved the beach, Tahoe, Reno and taking long drives. Bowling and bingo were also favorite pastimes of hers. She was generous, courageous, strong-willed and very independent who loved her family and friends deeply. Surviving Ms. Zodiacal is sons David Dacpano, Sr., Rudy Dacpano Jr. and Manny Quebec; daughter Desiree Dacpano Kim; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and limitless nieces and nephews. Her siblings George Zodiacal, Lourdes Mendoza and Robert Zodiacal; cousin Tim Sudiacal also survive her. A Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 3 from 1-9p with a Rosary vigil at 7p all at Healey Mortuary in Salinas. A Special Mass will take place on Friday, April 4 at 10a at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church in Salinas. Cremation to follow services
