Kay B. Grimm, 81, of Sprakers, N.Y., passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Kay was born in Sprakers, N.Y., on March 12, 1931 to the late William Fred Pitcher and Kathryn-Harbster- Pitcher. In 1949 she was united in marriage to the late Carl Grimm Jr. Kay worked at the Beach Nut Plant, and co-owned her own grocery store Grimm's Grocery in Sprakers. Kay was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. She spent many years of her life as a homemaker who loved her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Kay was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and loved to cook. She enjoyed watching sports on television and even played basketball through her younger years. Kay was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. Kay is survived by her daughters; KathyLarryCraver, and TracyAllertGrimm, brother; Paul Pitcher, sister; Deyetta Maguire, grandchildren; ScottNicoleCraver, DerrickNicole Craver, Carl Brown-Grimm, Will Brown-Grimm, great grandchildren; Tallon Craver, Mallory Craver, Willow Craver, and Zellen Craver. She was predeceased by her husband; Carl Grimm Jr., parents; William Fred Pitcher and Kathryn Harbster-Pitcher. A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, N.Y., 13317. There will be a calling period from 12-2 prior to the funeral services at the funeral home. All services will end at the funeral home. The family of Kay asks that donations be made to Sprakers Reformed Church, Sprakers, N.Y., 12166, and Rural Grove Vol. Fire Department 1192, State Highway 162, Sprakers, N.Y., 12166.
