Kaycee Lander

Kaycee Lander, 24, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born October 4, 1992 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Christopher Lander Sr. and Doreen Sleezer Gillis. She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School. She also attended Fulton Montgomery Community College. Kaycee was employed at Hannaford Supermarket in Amsterdam and later at the Pattersonville Rest area on the NYS Thruway until she became disabled from Crohn's Disease. She was a fighter and gave her Crohn's disease a run for its money. She loved camping, hiking, and simply hanging out with her kids and family. Kaycee was an extremely fun loving and unique person. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Kaycee is survived by her loving Mother, Doreen Sleezer Gillis of Amsterdam. Her father, Christopher Lander Sr. of Johnstown, NY. Her dear children, Joseph Bernardo, Madison Bernardo, Adrianna Zelaya. Her brother, Michael (Ashley) Lander of Tribes Hill, NY. Sisters, Meghan Sleezer of Tribes Hill, NY, Savannah Lander of Ohio and Jessica Lander of Gloversville, NY. Maternal grandfather, Donald Sleezer. Paternal grandmother, Dale Snell Lander. Her boyfriend, William Dingman. Father of Joseph and Madison, Marc Bernardo and Father of Adrianna Zelaya, Joel Zelaya. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Gary Lander, Maternal grandmother Marion Sleezer and her dear brother Christopher Lander Jr. who passed away in 2015. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ferndale Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Kaycee's Children's Future Education Fund.
