All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Kayleen Bordas
August 1st, 1952 - April 22nd, 2019
Kayleen Margaret (Gardner) Bordas passed away April 22, 2019, at her home in Thornton, Colorado. Kayleen was born on August 1, 1952, in Ely, Nevada. She graduated from Boulder High. Before retiring, she worked in the credit union industry and was the CEO of Rural Electric Credit Union for many years. Kayleen is survived by her husband Michael Bordas; stepmother Beverly Gardner; son Adam Figenser and wife Angela and their children AJ, Trinity, Grace and Josh; stepson Michael John Bordas and wife Catie and their children Connor and Morgan; and stepdaughter Katie Bordas. Brother Bruce Gardner and sister Annette (Gardner) Mosbarger and husband David Mosbarger and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Sylvia Gardner, son Eric Figenser, stepdaughter Shelly Bordas, and an infant brother. These are the facts of the life of Kayleen Bordas. Now here are the truths. “You gotta keep the bullshit straight.” -Kayleen Bordas on taking care of the little things in life, before they become big things. “When in an argument, ask yourself ‘what is your goal? Is your goal to be right, or is your goal to preserve the relationship?’ Sometimes you can’t have both.” -Kayleen Bordas on relationships. “I’ve filled out 12 job applications and I haven’t gotten a job yet.” K-“Well don’t worry. The average number of applications people fill out before they get a job is 15. And four out of five people have three or more interviews before they are hired.” “How do you know all these statistics?” K-“I don’t. I make them up. No one ever checks. Hardly anyone that is. Maybe two out of every 50 people will check, so I don’t worry.” *NOTE: This was NOT an isolated incident. “No one gets out alive, every day is do or die, The one thing we leave behind is How did you love, how did you love?” -Shinedown- How Did You Love? This is what Kayleen left behind. This is how she loved- Fiercely, unconditionally and wholly. How fortunate we all are to have known her.
