Keith Holloway
January 23rd, 1933 - June 10th, 2024
A. Keith Holloway, 91, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024. He was born January 23, 1933 in Stratford, Texas to James Thomas and Viola May (Flyr) Holloway. He is the last of eight children to pass on. He graduated from Gaston High School in 1951 in Klamath Falls, Oregon with scholarship opportunities and planned to play baseball for the Boston Braves. His path changed when he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard to serve his country during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged he attended the University of Oregon in Eugene. GO DUCKS!
He married and had four children. He later moved to Idaho and farmed in New Plymouth and Middleton while working full time with administrative duties in health care.
He later married Delta (Smith) and blended their families by bringing together his four children with her two in 1977. He proudly became known as “Papa” to 22 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
For over 50 years Keith advocated for the dignified care and services of elderly and disabled citizens and veterans. He was instrumental in collaboration with the Idaho Legislature and the US Congress ensuring safe and compassionate care of those in need, on behalf of the American Health Care and Idaho Health Care Associations. He and his wife Delta created Western Health Care Corporation owning, operating and consulting in assisted living and long-term care centers across Idaho, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada.
He loved his family and his friends and was the ultimate entertainer whether he was in McCall, Yellow Pine or Boise. Everyone was welcome! He was larger than life and will be missed beyond measure. He will be laid to rest at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held later this year.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Delta, and children, Steve (Susan) Holloway, Debra Troen, Rick (Jackie) Holloway, Randy (Debra) Holloway, Lance (Kim) Holloway and Sheri (Duke) Rogers and numerous loving relatives and friends.
