Kelly Talarico
August 15th, 1958 - September 8th, 2018
Tribute Kelly passed away at the age of 60 on September 8th, 2018. She was born to Sarah Jane Katherine Fink and Franklin Conrad Zinke (Doc) on August 15th, 1958 in Rochester, PA. She was preceded in death to both her parents and her sister, Kolleen Zinke. Kelly was the 2nd of 8 children and is survived by her siblings, Kirk Zinke, Kristian Zinke, Karyn King, Kathleen Smith, Kendra Davison, and Kenneth Zinke. Kelly married James Talarico on August 27th, 1977. Her delight in life was being a mother to her 5 children, the first of which she and Jim welcomed when she was just 19 years old. Kelly is survived by Sarah Clubb (Mark), Jessica Stoll (Caleb), Justin Talarico (Ashley), Rebekah Mitchell (Ben), and Christopher Talarico. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She has said, with 3 John 4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” Kelly worked with children nearly all of her life. She was an energetic preschool teacher, directed children’s plays and choirs, and even went back to school, eventually graduating with a BS in Psychology in December, 2017, from Colorado Christian University. Kelly loved traveling the world and she and Jim were able to visit over 30 countries together. She loved scary movies and there could rarely be found a movie that Kelly hadn’t seen yet. She worked out often and put people half her age to shame in cross-fit classes. She loved hosting sleep overs with her grandchildren and every year, Kelly would tirelessly build a gingerbread house for each kid to decorate. Kelly had many gifts and loved showing hospitality to everyone. As a pastor’s wife, she has hosted thousands of people in her home. She was a phenomenal wife, mother, and friend to many. She blessed numerous lives with her unrivaled cooking, creative party throwing, and most importantly her ability to love. Following her ALS diagnosis, Kelly continued to exude confidence and bravery, even after she lost her voice and the ability to taste her own delicious foods. Just 2 weeks ago, she served her newest Granddaughter, Kelly, by mopping her family’s floors on her hands and knees. Kelly was a servant, who loved Jesus. O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. – Psalm 63:1 Services Funeral Service Saturday September 15, 2018 2:00 PM First Presbyterian Church of Boulder 1820 15th Street Boulder, CO 80302
