Kelsey Ann Koonce

October 6th, 1955 - August 19th, 2024

Kelsey’s memory will be a lasting blessing to all who were fortunate to have known her.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Kelsey Ann Koonce, 68, who left us on August 19th, 2024 in Tucson, AZ, as a result of a fall at home. Kelsey was born on October 6th, 1955 to parents Bobbie and Grady Koonce. She grew up in Tucson, AZ making memories with her brothers, Scott and Todd. Kelsey lived a life marked by kindness, consideration, and a profound love for people.

Kelsey's academic pursuits led her to the University of Arizona, where she majored in vocal music studies. She also worked in the University of Arizona's Administration Office before volunteering at the Arizona Historical Society, in their mail room. Kelsey cherished roles that allowed her to connect with and support her community, as she found great joy in working at the Arizona Baptist children's services and reading to children at local schools.

A woman of great strength and resilience, Kelsey valiantly fought cancer and continued to find joy, while smiling her way through life, embodying her belief in making the most of every day. Her travels took her to revered places like the White House in Washington, D.C., the White Mountains in Arizona, and even overseas to Europe. Deeply devout, she found solace and inspiration in Bible studies and cherished the company of her fellow congregants.

In the later years of her life, Kelsey demonstrated her enduring compassion by caring for her mother at home, a testament to her unwavering love for her family.

Kelsey's warm personality ensured that everywhere she went, somebody knew her and remembered her fondly. Her legacy as a kind and considerate person who enjoyed every moment, despite the hardships she faced, will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Thank you, Kelsey, for being an example of God's love to others!
