Kenneth Charles Bald

"South Hadley - Kenneth C. Bald, 88, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home. He retired from his position as Research Chemist at Rexam in 1993. He earned his doctorate in Physical Chemistry at St. Louis University in 1962. Born in Illinois, he was a resident of Pennsylvania and New Jersey before finally settling in South Hadley. He served in the US Army during the Korean Emergency period. He was a communicant in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, South Hadley, since 1982. He leaves his loving wife, Sarah (Sally) Bald, Kevin Bald and his wife Kristen of VT, Daniel Bald and his wife Melissa of CA, Steven Bald of CT, and Ellen Clark and her husband Michael Clark of RI, and nine grandchildren: Ryan, Sean, Sarah, Connor, Sam, Meagan, Zoe, Maeve and Seamus, and his sister, Rita Jarvis of Illinois. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley. Please meet directly at church. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff and nurses at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home for the exceptional care given to Ken. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth's memory to the Activities Fund at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home, 110 Cherry Street Holyoke, MA 01040."
