Kenneth Billigmeier

Kenneth L. Billigmeier of Sutter Creek, CA, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the age of 86. He was born on August 19, 1928 to the late Albert and Molly Billigmeier, in Fredonia, ND; the second of four children. Ken served in the Army Air Force and after being honorably discharged he returned to his family in Amador City. On July 3, 1949 he married Flora Rettagliata. In 1955 the family (Ken, Flora, and two daughters) moved to Sacramento where he held jobs involving gas distribution and was then hired by Shell Oil Company until his retirement in 1986. Upon retirement, he enjoyed fishing at Silver Lake, restoring old cars, trips to Alaska, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother; Rodney, and sisters; Marilyn Tretheway and Donna Hull. Ken is survived by his wife of 65 years Flora, daughters; Kathleen Billigmeier of Sacramento, and Stephanie (David) Bassett of Jackson, grandchildren; Randall Bassett (fiancé Sara Penn) of Ripon, and Carrie Bassett of Pine Grove. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson, on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. A reception for family and friends will be held at the American Legion Hall in Sutter Hill following the service.
