Kenneth Ivan Dobbins, 58, of Evans, CO, passed away on May 17, 2014 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born on November 24, 1955 to Bill and Mertyl (Birdsell) Dobbins in Keokuk, IA. Kenny was a hardworking man who was dedicated to providing for his family. He was strong-willed and was often referred to as the "Great Wise Large Owl”. He was married to Susan Grein. They later divorced. On September 24, 1982 Kenny married Clara Arguello in Greeley. Author, Eric Schlosser honored Kenny’s life with a chapter in his book, Fast Food Nation. Kenny enjoyed fishing, trips to the mountains, all animals, and he especially enjoyed watching the Denver Bronco. Kenny was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Clara Dobbins; daughters, Adrienne Dobbins (David Conover) and Shannon Astudillo (Juan); sons, Kenneth Dobbins (Cynthia), Frank Dobbins (Roxana) and William Dobbins; thirteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sisters, Tammy Dobbins and Tracy Dobbins; brother, Will E. Dobbins (Su); a loving extended family and many friends. Services will include: visitation from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, and a celebration of life service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, both at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley. Memorial contributions may be made to "Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, Colorado 80634.
