Kenneth Warren Glann, 77 of Arvada died on September 12, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth; daughter Sheryl (Arnie) Thomas; sons Shawn (Suzanne), Brent (Kelli), and Bradley; his brother Roger and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim. He was born on December 9, 1933 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Ruth Glann. Graduating from Drake University, he served in the Air Force and for 31 years taught band in the Jefferson County Schools, most of the time at Arvada Junior High. He was one of the first in the R-1 School System to teach and use guitars in his music classes. Twice he was named the Teacher of the Year and in 1966 was a finalist for the Colorado Teacher of the Year. He was on the original board of the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities and also served on the Arvada Planning Commission. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 1:00 PM Arvada United Methodist Church, 68th & Carr. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Collier Hospice Center, 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 Birth: Dec 9, 1933, Sioux City, Iowa Death: Sep 12, 2011, Wheat Ridge, Colorado
