Kenneth J. Jenkins, a resident of Satellite Beach, FL, passed away July 11, 2010 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lloyd and Roland. Ken was born in Philadelphia, PA. The family moved to New York when Ken was a toddler. He was a Marine Veteran of WWII. After the war he resettled in New York and continued his education at Queens College. He was employed by the New York City Transit Authority for 35 years in various managerial positions. His position upon retirement was as Director of Personnel. In 1977 he moved to Brevard County, FL with his wife Doris. Ken was deeply involved in many leisure activities. He was an early founding member of The Host of Brevard, a brilliant director of international and local bridge tournaments, as well as bridge player, a golfer, a world traveler and computer buff. Ken loved Florida's weather. He was an active member of Holy Apostles Episcopal Church. He was adored by many due to his generous nature, winning smile and love of life. Left to mourn are his beloved wife, Doris of 41 years; his children, Patricia, Curtis and Cheryl; his sister, Louise Meriwether; brother, Edward Jenkins; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, 505 Grant Avenue, Satellite Beach, FL. 32937 at 2:00 P.M.
