"Palmer, Kenneth "Paul" Manley, 84, passed peacefully from this life on February 13, 2011. A lifelong resident of Palmer, he was the beloved husband of 62 years to Roseleen (Griffin) Manley. He was the son of Ralph A. and Florence (Ross) Manley, who started the family plumbing & heating business, RA Manley & Sons, in 1925. He owned and operated the business with his brother, Howard, until their retirement. A World War II US Army veteran, he served in Okinawa. A competitive athlete, especially in football, basketball and track, Paul also enjoyed traveling with his wife and they enjoyed many wonderful trips. Besides his wife, he leaves his children Ruth Campbell and husband Scott of Hardwick, MA, Ronald Manley and wife Patricia of Greenfield, Russ Manley and wife Jeannie of Palmer, Timothy Manley and wife Petrini of Gainesville, FL and Robert Manley and wife Judy of West Hartford, CT. He also leaves his sister, Dorothy Loux and husband Gordon of Palmer. Paul cherished his 10 grandchildren � Sarah Mignault, Kate Manley, Rose, Colleen & Dave Campbell, Jackie & Maeve Manley, and Joshua, David & Elizabeth Manley. Also, his beloved Boston Terrier, Lacey. Besides his parents, his daughter, Laura Manley-MacKenzie preceded him in death in 1995, along with his brother, Howard, in January of 2011. He was a lifelong member of Faith Baptist Church of Palmer. A calling hour will be held Friday, February 18 from noon to 1:00 at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a private service and burial. Donations may be made in his memory to either Faith Baptist Church, Shearer Street, Palmer, MA 01069 or to March of Dimes, 60 Shaker Rd., East Longmeadow, MA 01028."
