Kenneth Clyde McIlvaine, 91, of The Villages, FL passed away on August 31, 2024, in Hospice of The Villages (Cornerstone Hospice House) Ken was born in Cleveland, OH to Harry & Margaret McIlvaine on Dec 23, 1932. He went to high school in Cleveland and then attended and played football at Kent State University. Ken married Colleen Murphy on Dec 18, 1955. Ken was a man of many talents – he worked as an industrial & electrical engineer at TRW for many years, which brought him to FL. For a number of years, he owned his own business and was known as “Friendly Kenny”. After selling the business, he finished his working career at Anheuser-Busch. Ken was a veteran of the Korean War era and served in the US Navy. Always outgoing, Ken was involved in numerous social and civic organizations including the American Legion, bowling league, Italian-American Association, Cleveland Browns NE Ohio Club, and the local “Hartley Place Crew” in Winifred Village. Ken went on his Honor Flight in October of 2022, and was an avid golfer. Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Murphy McIlvaine and his six siblings. He is survived by his four sons: Rick (Marji), Alan (Lori), Jim and Rob. He has a wealth of grandchildren: Holly, Wayne, Sarah (Christopher), Daniel, Susannah (Aaron), Elizabeth, Anna (Parker), Naomi, Matthew (Fenella), John (Sejin), Daniel, Joseph (Adrianna), Samuel, and James. Furthermore, Ken was blessed by a growing number of great-grandchildren – among them are Jackson, Emma, Josie and Arianna.) Visitation and services will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM, funeral at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetary at 1:30PM. Arrangements are by Hiers-Baxley Life Event Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project. We in Ken’s family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Hospice personnel for their considerate care, local buddies and friends at the Villages restaurants and establishments, and especially to the Hartley Place Crew. He loved his life among you.
