Obituary Kenneth “Ken” L. Nelson 68 passed away January 6th 2023 peacefully in his sleep in Fort Collins CO. Ken was Born January 19th 1954 in Superior NE to Robert “Bob” and Maureen “Mickey” Nelson. Ken graduated in 1972 at Fleming High School in Fleming CO. Ken also went to Metro State College in Denver CO for his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. For the last 25 years he worked in the Aggregate industry. He started out as a cement driver for Redi Mix and Lafarge and then switched over to sales rep for Lafarge, Martin Marietta and SRM. Live streaming will be avliable soon from Timberline Church. Ken was huge into fishing. He and his sister Cathy would always plan trips throughout the year. He was also a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Him and his best friend Gary Wood and family would go to a lot of games throughout the years. He was huge into helping and giving to others. Also loved taking trips. He recently just went on a trip with Gary and family to Alaska for deep sea fishing trip and that was one thing off his bucket list. The love of his life was Sophie Jo. He got her as an 8 week on puppy November 2011. Wherever he was Sophie would follow. Sophie had a huge part of his heart. Ken is preceded in death by his parents Robert “Bob” and Maureen “Mickey” Nelson. His brothers Rickie L Nelson and Larry D Nelson. Ken is survived by Chris Nelson ( wife Jenny Nelson. Kids Kyleigh, Brayden, Austin and Rylyn.) Corey Nelson ( wife Angie Nelson. Kids Cade, Colby and Connor.) Sister Cathy Nelson (Kid Meleesa, Rob and Kaybree.) Sister-In-law Kathy Nelson. For those who plan to attend the service, we ask you to wear red or Nebraska Cornhusker stuff in honor of Ken.
