Kenneth Patterson

December 26th, 2012

Kenneth Raymond Patterson was born on May 18, 1938 to Samuel and Ila Mae Patterson in Portland, OR. He passed away on December 26, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Kenny was raised in Oregon with his older brother Rick, and younger sister Carolyn. They later moved to Idaho. At age 17, in the year 1955, Kenny went into the Navy, and served his country until 1959. In August of 1960, he married Myrna Ulrich. They had three children, a daughter, Kristine, and two sons Mark and Matt. Myrna passed away in 1973. On December 7, 1974, Kenny married Vickie Gann who he would spend the next 38 years raising a family and enjoying life together. Kenny was an electrician for 30 years before opening The Lube Shop in Caldwell in 1986. Kenny loved fishing, hunting and riding four-wheelers with his wife, family and friends. He also enjoyed all the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren constantly teasing them. For the last six years he and Vickie escaped the cold Idaho winters by traveling down to Arizona enjoying the warm weather and the great outdoors with friends. Kenny was a wonderful Husband, Father and the best Grandpa ever. We were so lucky to have him in our lives. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rick. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years, Vickie, children Kristine Kampe, Mark, and Matt (Kelly) all of Caldwell, grandchildren Sarah, Josh (Dani), Kasey, Kyle, Shaun, Sydnee, Jorden, and Kaleb, and great grandchildren Drake, Circa, Odin, and Titan, along with many other family and friends. A special thanks given to Jim and Candie Ogstad for being great friends, and for all their help and support especially this last month. A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 3pm at The Elk’s Lodge 1015 N. Kimball, Caldwell. Condolences may be submitted online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com. It was with sadness that I read of Kenny's death. It has been way too long since I have seen either Kenny or Vicki, but have very fond memories of them both. I know how much Kenny adored Vicki and his children, I remember his adorable sense of humor and his good heart. I have no doubt that all the memories that he's created in his life will live well beyond his time on earth. All the best to those he leaves behind.

Ken was a person who enjoyed the outdoors and shared them with Vickie. Like to joke around and maybe sturr the pot a little. Just to get someones reaction. I know that he loved all his grandkids and friends. We will miss him but will keep him in mind when out on the lake or fishing.
