In Memorium Kevin Baumgartner (1960 – 2018) Kevin Lee Baumgartner was born on August 3, 1960 at St. Johns Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota to Adrian Andrew Baumgartner and Kathleen Joanne Blaisdell Bussard. In 1981 Kevin joined the US Army. After Basic Training, he went to San Antonio, TX for Pharmacy Specialist and Medical Specialist training. He served at Fort Monmouth, NJ and then at Fort Riley, KS. He received the Army Service Ribbon and Army Achievement Medal. He was Honorably Discharged. On September 17, 1983 he married Joanne Marie Ouverson at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Delano, MN. They were blessed with five amazing sons. Kevin loved his family more than anything in the world. He enjoyed being with them, challenging them, supporting them and was always there for everyone. He loved to travel and was studying French. It felt like he could always fix anything; give him a problem, let him think about it and a solution would always present itself. He had plans to make an elaborate model train setup. He won several chili competitions and had a passion for barbecuing. He owned a construction company in Minnesota, and most recently worked at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD as a Door Systems Mechanic. Kevin passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Doctor’s Community Hospital, Lanham, MD at the age of 57. He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Bussard; and stepfather, John Bussard. He is survived by his wife, Jo Baumgartner of Glenn Dale, MD; five sons: David and Katrina Baumgartner of Medford, MA, Matt Baumgartner and Maria Maggio of San Diego, CA, Eric Baumgartner and Lauren Granger of Baltimore, MD, Alex Baumgartner of Idyllwild, CA, Todd Baumgartner of Glenn Dale, MD; his father, Adrian Baumgartner of Aitkin, MN; stepfather, Jack and Susan Heule of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Julie and Pete Globa of Eden Prairie, MN; brothers: Mike Baumgartner of AZ, Jack Baumgartner of Minneapolis, MN, and Randy and Cindy Baumgartner of Northfield, MN; and several nieces and nephews. In Maryland, visitation is on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 3:00 to 7:00pm at Advent Funeral Services, 9013 Annapolis Road, Lanham, MD 20706. adventfuneral.com In Minnesota, visitation is on Saturday, May 19, 2018, 3:30 to 4:30pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Canby, MN with funeral at 4:30pm.
